NTL GIRLS' BASKETBALL: NEB ROLLS PAST CV, CLINCHES SIXTH STRAIGHT DIVISIONAL TITLE (2025-02-10)

ROME — NEB rolled past CV to claim their sixth straight NTL Small School title on Monday.

The Panthers led 33-23 at the half, then used a 25-point third quarter to pull away fro the win.


“These girls work hard every year, the younger girls get to play against great competition at practice every night, which gets them ready for the next year,” said NEB coach Ben Beebe. “I Never thought about six in a row, I’m just proud of these teams year after year giving it everything they have.”


Lillie Maynard had 16 points, seven boards, five assists, and three steals to lead the Panthers, as Lilah Hughes finished with 15 points, two steals, and two blocks.


Leah Beebe notched 13 points, seven assists, and three steals, as Mallorie Maynard added eight points, seven boards, and two steals.


Becca VanDeMark finished with six points, four boards, and four steals, Kara Dughi notched four points, with Aurelia Kolesar adding two points.


Lillie Maynard had seven points to lead NEB’s 19 point first quarter effort as they took an 8-point lead after the first horn.


Seven different Panthers scored in the second, but CV hung tough, keeping it a 10-point game at the half.


NEB went off for three 3-pointers in their big third quarter with Beebe netting eight points, as Lillie Maynard, and Hughes had five points each to put them 58-35.


NEB (17-5) will host Towanda in the first round of the NTL Showdown on Thursday, then prepare for a home district game the following week.
