“It’s great just finally getting that weight off my back of not knowing,” Frye said. 

Burbage had a similar feeling about the signing.

“It feels good to make my pick because then I don’t have to worry about that stuff later on,” he said. “I like a lot about Mansfield, but most of all I like how close it is to home.”

Both players were key defensive players on Troy’s state title winning team this past season, and now they’ll be teaming up with former teammates Justice Chimics, and Jackson Taylor.

“It’s going to be great playing with those guys again, but it’s also going to be great playing with some new guys,” remarked Frye. 

Burbage can’t wait to join them this summer.

“I’m ready to get into the gym with them, and get back on the field, and show off what we can do together.”
