SULLIVAN COUNTY BOYS USE FAST START TO DOWN GALETON (2025-02-18)

LAPORTE — Sullivan County used a fast start to beat Galeton, 57-47, during the opening round off the District IV Boys’ Basketball Class A Playoffs Tuesday.

The Griffins jumped out to a 17-6 lead and held serve the rest of the way.

Colin King had 15 points to lead Sullivan, as Lucas King notched 11 points, and five steals.

Tucker Blasi finished with 10 points, five boards, five assists, and four steals, with Justin Hemighaus adding eight points, and six boards.

Ryan Murray had six points, and six rebounds, with Cayden Smithkors scoring four, and Dominic Marotti netting three.

Blasi netted six to pace Sullivan in the first quarter, while Lucas King and Murray had four points each.

Galeton would rally with a 15 point second quarter, but Sullivan kept pace with 14 points of their own, thanks to five from Colin King.

Colin King wen toff for 10 in the third quarter as the Griffins out scored Galeton 16-15.

In the final frame Smithkors had four of his team’s 10 points to help secure the win.

They’ll play Lourdes in the semifinals at a time, date, and place to be determined.
