NTL WRESTLING: VERMILYA FALLS IN STATE CONSOLATIONS (2025-03-07)

HERSHEY — Canton’s Lyle Vermilya finished up his career in the second round of consolations at the PIAA, Class AA Wrestling Championships Friday.

Vermilya dropped a 14-2 major decision to Chestnut Ridge’s Easton Mull, though the match was closer than the score indicated.

Mull got a first period takedown, but was called for locked hands to make it 3-1 after one.

Vermilya got an escape point to start the second, with the two wrestlers locking into a scramble. A couple times it looked like Vermilya would come out with control, but Mull ended up getting the takedown for a 6-2 lead.

He cradled up Vermilya for a 10-2 lead after two. Mull added an escape, another takedown, for the 14-2 final.
