COLLEGE: TROY GRAD SEYMOUR QUALIFIES FOR D-1 WRESTLING NATIONALS (2025-03-08)

The 121st EIWA Conference tournament started today at Lehigh University. The oldest conference in the country. Sheldon Seymour coming in as the top seed in the tournament and 9th ranked per Intermat. 

Seymour opening his tournament in the quarter final round versus Jack Parker from Franklin and Marshall.  In the first period Seymour would secure 4 takedowns while giving up three escape to take 12-4 lead into the second period. Seymour with choice in the second period would choose the neutral position. Securing two more takedowns while giving up one escape Seymour would take a 18-4 lead into the third. In third period Seymour would start in the top position where he would give up the last escape and earn the final points in the match with his 7th takedown to win by technical fall 21-5 in 5:35. 

In the semi finals with a chance to earn a trip to Division 1 Nationals on the line. Seymour would face off against Carson Wagner of Binghamton. Pushing the pace early Seymour would get a stall warning against Wagner. Then with under 1:00 to go in first period Seymour would get the takedown. Then hit a nasty chin back to put Wagner on his back. Seymour squeezing hard to secure the fall in 2:59. 

With the win Seymour moves into the finals against Charlie Farmer of Army West Point. And with the win Seymour earns a trip to Nationals In Philadelphia.
