HERSHEY — Sullivan County’s Colton Wade finished up his high school wrestling career with his highest finish yet at the PIAA, Class AA Wrestling Championships, finishing fourth at 127 pounds Saturday.

He got an injury default win in the consolation semifinals, but then fell 4-0 to Bishop McDevitt’s Greyson Music in the third place match.

“It feels pretty good,” Wade said about taking fourth. “That’s not how I wanted it, but that’s the way it goes sometimes.”

In his third place bout the two were even after the first period. Music got an escape in the second to take a 1-0 lead into the third.

Wade was searching for the go ahead takedown, but it was Music scoring a takedown. He would ride Wade out for the win.

“It shows that I’m improving,” Wade said about moving up the podium. He was seventh as a sophomore, and took eighth last season, so fourth is definitely a jump. “I beat some good guys, I lost to some really good guys. They’re still people ahead of me, so I’ve got to keep working, and keep getting better.”

He is Sullivan’s second three state medalist after Nathan Higley.

“It sucks it wasn’t four, but it’s all in the past now,” Wade said.
