AOW: TROY'S WOODWARD, TOWANDA'S MAYNARD POST BIG WEEKS AT STATES (2025-03-09)

An exciting week of state level sports, with area wrestlers battling it out with the best in PA, while area hoops teams went to all four corners of the state for in the opening round games. Three area wrestlers found their way to the podium, while the teams on the hardwood had exciting finishes to their season.

On the boys’ side Troy’s Evan Woodward left it all out on the court. The senior had 13 points, two steals, and a block, while also hitting the game tying shot to send it into overtime in their loss to Holy Cross. He is this week’s Male Athlete of the Week.

For the girls Towanda’s Mya Maynard had a double-double of 12 points and 12 rebounds as they lost to one of the best teams in the state in River Valley, earning her the Female Athlete of the Week honors.
