YOUTH: TOWANDA HAS FOUR WRESTLERS COMPETE AT KEYSTONE STATE WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIPS (2025-03-16)
Northern Tier Sports ReportTowanda had four wrestlers compete at the Keystone State Championships this past week, with one bringing home a medal.
Kaylen Sluyter went 2-3 to take eighth, opening with a 9-0 major decision win. She lost 6-2 to the eventual runner-up in the quarters, but then came back with a fall in the blood round to get on the podium.
She would lose by fall in the next round of consolations, then lost 7-0 in the eighth place match.
Kendal Cook, and Hagen Jones both lost in the blood round.
Cook went 2-2, opening with a 10-4 loss, but then rebounding with an 8-2 win. She got a fall in the next round of consolations, but then fell in the blood round to the eighth place finisher.
Jones went 2-2, as well, getting back to back falls to open the tournament. He lost in the quarters by fall to the fourth place finisher, then took a tough 3-2 loss in the blood round.
Jason Isbell went 2-2, too, opening with a tech fall win. He then lost by tech fall to the fourth place finisher, but stayed alive with a 12-9 win in the consolations. He then lost by fall to fall out of the tournament.
