NTL BASEBALL: BAD FOURTH INNING DOOMS WYALUSING AGAINST NP-MANSFIELD (2025-03-18)

MANSFIELD — A rough fourth inning turned a nail-biter into a 15-4 NP-Mansfield win over Wyalusing in five innings during NTL baseball action Tuesday.

The game was tied 3-3 after three, but a 12-run fourth from the Tigers propelled them to the win.


Kenny Mapes (2-for-3) had a home run, a double, 2-RBI, and a run scored, as Hunter House (2-for-3) drove in a run.


Mahdden Hugo (1-for-1) had a double with two runs scored, with Marshall Huston (1-for-2) scoring, and driving a run.


House got the start, going three innings with seven strikeouts, two walks, four hits, and three runs, two of which were earned.


Jared VandeMark tossed the next third, with a strikeout, one walk, and three unearned runs. Isaac Shaffer then threw, but didn’t register an out, with one hit, two walks, and five runs, four of which were earned.


Ashton VandeMark went the final two-thirds, with three hits, and four runs, three of which were earned.


Wyalusing took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first as a 2-out House single scored Huston.


NPM got the run back in the bottom half of the inning, then added another in the second for a 2-1 lead.


With one swing of the bat Mapes put the Rams back up, hitting a 2-run bomb for a 3-2 lead in the top of the third.


NP-Mansfield scored in the bottom half of the inning to knot things up again.


Wyalusing went down in order in the fourth, then came the big NP-Mansfield inning. Wyalusing got one run back in the top of the fifth as Mapes drove in Hugo on a double.


Wyalusing (0-1) hits the road against as they travel to Towanda on Thursday.
