COLLEGE: TROY GRAD SEYMOUR ONE WIN AWAY FROM ALL-AMERICAN STATUS AT NCAA'S (2025-03-20)

Northern Tier Sports Report
Troy graduate Sheldon Seymour (125), of Lehigh University, is one win away from All-American status after he picked up two wins at the NCAA Division-I Wrestling Championships Thursday.

The win that put Seymour on the brink was a 7-3 win over returning All-American Caleb Smith of Nebraska. He got a 3-0 lead on a takedown early, then got Smith on his back off a scramble for a 6-1 lead en route to the 4-point win in the quarterfinals.

Seymour opened the tournament with a 7-0 win over Army’s Charlie Farmer in the quarterfinals Thursday morning.

Seymour will have two chances to get into the top eight, beginning with Penn State’s Luke Lilledahl in the semifinals Friday morning. Lilledahl is the top seed at 125 pounds, and won a tech fall in the quarters.
