HUGHESVILLE — Towanda boys’ tennis got nipped by Hughesville, 3-2, during non-league action Saturday as they used the three singles, two doubles format.

The Knights got their wins at singles, as Bayley Poll beat Josh Myers 6-1, 6-1 at first singles, while Matrix McCarter pulled out a 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 win over Brett Whitmoyer at third singles.

Rian Hennessy came up just short in his second singles match against Jacob Buck, 6-4, 6-2.

Hughesville swept the doubles action as Kevin Bobau and Michael Swaks won 6-0, 6-2 over Jameson Harkness, and Robert Roof.

At second doubles the duo of Luke Viermiere and Luke Ragan beat Towanda’s team of Ethan Lane, and Dominic Johnson, 6-0, 6-0.
