NTL SWIMMING & DIVING: TOWANDA CONTINUES TO GROW IN 2024-2025 (2025-03-23)

Northern Tier Sports Report
Towanda swimming and diving took another step forward this year, especially on the boys’ side, as they continued to rebuild the program.

“Coach Strickland and I are really proud of the success we had this season,” said Towanda coach Hannah Deacon. “There was more depth this season which helped us with wins. We sent 11 swimmers to districts and one diver to states.”

The boys’ team was able to get dual meet wins over Shamokin, and Elk Lake, and sent 11 swimmers to districts, including all three relays.

The standout was Brennick Lain, who took second in the District IV diving competition, and was able to compete at states.

At the District IV Championships the boys’ team took eighth out of 15 teams with 101 points.

On the girls’ side the Knights had enough swimmers to fill the relays, and be competitive in dual meets.

The boys say good-bye to Clay Wrisley, Alex Lantz, and Sean Lauber but return most of the team as both programs look to continue to grow.

“We have several swimmers putting in off season work,” said Deacon. “So we are really looking forward to next season’s growth.”
