NTL TRACK & FIELD: TOWANDA ROLLS PAST CANTON, NEB IN SEASON OPENER (2025-03-26)
Northern Tier Sports ReportTOWANDA — The Towanda girls’ track and field team opened the season with a pair of tri-meet wins Tuesday. The Lady Knights (83) beat Canton (56), and NEB (46), while Brynn Woodruff set the school record in the javelin with a throw of 121-feet, 4-inches.
Towanda’s 4x800 relay won in 10:47.68, while NEB (11:54.75) was second.
NEB’s Mallorie Maynard (17.56) won the 100 hurdles, followed by Towanda’s Katelyn Blokzyl (18.90), and Karis Flynn (19.69).
Canton’s Kendall Kitchen (12.78) won the 100, followed by Towanda’s Reese Sullivan (13.43), and Canton’s Hayley Larson (13.92) came in third.
Towanda’s Izzy Larson (6:12.57) won the 1600, as teammate Mary-Kate Eberlin (6:12.60) was second, while NEB’s Anaiah Kolesar (6:18) came in third.
Canton’s 4x100 (55.19) won followed by Towanda (55.34), and NEB (1:02.77).
Towanda’s Anna Dunn (1:04.75) won the 400 with NEB’s Lillie Maynard (1:06.44) second, and Kolesar (1:09.24) third.
Mallorie Maynard (51.89) won the 300 hurdles, followed by Canton’s Danah Wesneski (52.82), and NEB’s Amelia Kapr (54.72).
Larson (2:32.50) won the 800, with Lillie Maynard (3:05.69) second, and NEB’s Anyely Reyes (3:14.75) third.
Kitchen (27.76) won the 200, as NEB’s Riley Lamson (29.41) was second, and Sullivan (29.58) came in third.
Towanda’s Kenzie Brown (13:58.97) won the 3200, followed by Reyes (16:32.22).
Towanda won the 4x400 in 5:03.22.
NEB’s Cora Franklin (95-feet, 3 1/2-inches) won the discus, followed by Canton’s Alexis McRoberts (94-feet, 2 1/2-inches), and Towanda’s Mya Maynard (81-feet, 3 1/2-inches). Maynard (86-feet) was second in the javelin, while Franklin (79-feet, 4-inches) came in third.
McRoberts (30-feet) won the shot put, followed by Maynard (27-feet, 6-inches), and Franklin (27-feet, 6-inches).
Kitchen (9-feet, 6-inches) won the pole vault, as Towanda’s Marin Maynard (9-feet) was second, and Allexys Shaffer (7-feet, 6-inches) came in third.
Towanda’s Kennedy Heyer (4-feet, 6-inches) won the high jump, followed by Hayley Larson (4-feet, 4-inches), and teammate Stella Rockwell (4-feet, 4-inches).
Rockwell (14-feet, 1/2-inches) won the long jump, followed by Woodruff (12-feet, 10 1/2-inches), and Canton’s Savannah Boyles (12-feet, 6 1/2-inches).
Rockwell (28-feet, 7-inches) also won the triple jump, with Woodruff (27-feet, 4-inches) second, and Towanda’s Alexiana Lamphere (23-feet, 9-inches) third.
