NTL BASEBALL: TOWANDA FALLS TO NP-MANSFIELD (2025-03-26)
Northern Tier Sports ReportWYSOX — Towanda started slow in their 10-1 loss to NP-Mansfield during NTL baseball action Tuesday.
The Tigers scored three runs in the first two innings to go up 6-0. The Knights got one back in the third, but NPM scored three more in the fourth, then added one more in the sixth for the 9-run win.
Gianni Assante (2-for-3) led the Knights at the plate, as Jack Wheaton (1-for-3) scored a run. Dawson Butts (1-for-4) had an RBI, with Jack Tavani (1-for-3), and Owen Lane (1-for-3) also getting hits.
Tavani started, and went two innings with three strikeouts, one walk, six hits, and six unearned runs.
Butts tossed the next two innings, with one strikeouts, three walks, two hits, and three earned runs.
Wheaton, Assante, and Lane all pitched an inning down the stretch, with Assante getting one strikeout, and Lane fanning two.
Cooper Shaw went five innings with five strikeouts, two walks, five hits, and one earned run to get the win for the Tigers.
Wheaton would score on a 2-out single by Butts.
Towanda (1-1) travels to Wellsboro on Thursday.
