AOW: BIG PERFORMANCES OUT OF TOWANDA'S WOODRUFF, AND ASSANTE, AND TROY'S GILLILAND (2025-03-30)

Northern Tier Sports Report
The first full week of spring sports as baseball, softball, track and field, and boys’ tennis hit into high gear. There were plenty of big performances in the final full week of March.

On the girls’ side Towanda’s Brynn Woodruff had a big first meet as she set the school record in the javelin at 121-feet, 4-inches to be this week’s Female Athlete of the Week.


For the boys Towanda’s Gianni Assante, and Troy’s Brendan Gilliland had big weeks at the plate. Assante went 5-for-10 with a home run, a double, two runs scored, and 5-RBI, while Gilliland went 5-for-11 with a home run, a double, a triple, five runs scored, and 2-RBI, to be the Co-Boys’ Athletes of the Week.
