NTL BASEBALL: WYALUSING FALLS TO WELLSBORO (2025-04-01)
Northern Tier Sports ReportWYALUSING — An 8-run sixth inning allowed Wellsboro to pull away from Wyalusing for a 12-2 win in six innings during NTL baseball action Tuesday.
The game was tied 1-1 after one, with the Hornets adding two more in the third, and another in the fourth to go up 4-1.
In the top of the sixth the Wellsboro put a snowman up on the scoreboard to go up 12-1. The Rams tried to extend the game, adding another run in the bottom half, but couldn’t get anymore.
Kenny Mapes (2-for-3) had a double with a run scored, and an RBI, to lead Wyalusing as Logan Norton (1-for-3) also had a hit. Isaac Shaffer would score a run.
Hunter House went five innings in the loss, striking out five with four walks, eight hits, and four runs, three of which were earned.
Jared VandeMark went the next two-thirds with two walks, five hits, and seven earned runs. Seth McCammon went the final third, with one hit, one walk, and one earned run.
In the first Shaffer led off with a walk, then scored on a Mapes hit two batters later.
Mapes then led off the sixth with a double, scoring on a steal of home two batters later.
Wyalusing (1-6) is off until next Tuesday when they host CV.
