NTL TRACK & FIELD: TROY BOYS, GIRLS EARN SWEEPS OVER NEB, SAYRE (2025-04-01)
Northern Tier Sports ReportTROY — The Troy boys and girls track and field teams both had sweeps for their home opener in NTL action Tuesday.
On the boys’ side Troy (94) topped NEB (64), and Sayre (20), while for the girls Troy (120) was followed by NEB (44), and Sayre (18).
For the boys Troy’s Ben Warburton (11.18) won the 100 followed by Sayre’s Marco Quiros (11.45), and fellow Trojan Joseph Frye (11.68). Quiros (22.72) won the 200 followed by Warburton (22.85), and Frye (23.81).
Troy’s Mason Wulff (57.28) edged out NEB’s Tyler Kuhn (57.74) for first, with Trojan Marcus Frisbie (58.64) in third.
Troy’s Evan Geer (2:06.46) eked out a win over NEB’s Creed Dewing (2:06.56) in the 800, as Wulff (2:19.23) came in third.
The Panthers swept the 1600 with Dewing (4:55.94), Ryan Jones (5:10.43), and Jackson Martin (5:16.25). Jones (11:05.96), and Martin (11:25.14) went 1-2 in the 3200, with Troy’s RJ Bellinger (11:37.35) third.
Troy’s Rylan Breidt (19.02), and Emmit Cole (22.11) went 1-2 in the 110 hurdles. Breidt (45.70) won the 300 hurdles with Sayre’s Declan Barry (53.25) second, and Trojan Isaac Gates (54.20) in third.
The Trojans won the 4x100 relay (46.96), and the 4x400 relay (3:49.33), with NEB (3:50.15) second. NEB won the 4x800 relay (9:04.96), as Troy (9:08.71) took second.
In the high jump Troy went 1-2 with Cameron Morey (6-feet, 1-inch), and Kendrick Ross (6-feet), as NEB’s Ayden Wilson (5-feet) was third.
Warburton (20-feet, 8 1/2-inches) led a Trojan sweep of the long jump, followed by Frye (20-feet, 7 1/2-inches), and Morey (19-feet, 7 3/4-inches).
Ross (36-feet, 3-inches) won the triple jump, with NEB’s Ed Eastman (32-feet, 6-inches) second, as Frisbie (31-feet, 9-inches) came in third.
Troy swept the pole vault with Ben Osgood (9-feet), Hart Houseknecht (8-feet, 6-inches), and Alex Breidt (7-feet, 6-inches).
Troy’s Avery Sens (118-feet, 3-inches) won the discus, followed by NEB’s Lex Cragle (108-feet, 7-inches), and Trojan Cooper Watkins (93-feet, 7-inches).
Troy went 1-2 in the javelin with Gordon Weaver (129-feet), and Rylan Breidt (111-feet, 1-inch), as Sayre’s Hudson Malanoski (101-feet, 1-inch) came in third.
Sens (46-feet, 4-inches), and Watkins (39-feet, 6-inches) went 1-2 in the shot put, as Malanoski (38-feet, 8-inches) came in third.
For the girls Lillie Maynard (13.49) won the 100 followed by Troy’s Ellie Spalding (13.73), and Sayre’s Rose Shikanga (13.85). Shikanga (28.83) took the 200, followed by Spalding (29.56), and Trojan Parker Lee (31.72).
Maynard (1:06.56) won the 400 followed by Troy’s Kylee Roy (1:07.19), and Panther Sophie Bennett (1:13.65).
NEB’s Anaiah Kolesar (2:50.55) won the 800 followed by Trojans Haylie Davies-Grove (3:02.07), and Gloria Andrews (3:07.38). Kolesar (6:20.61) won the 1600, with Troy’s Isabella Prieto (8:26.14) coming in second.
NEB’s Gracelyn Laudermilch (12:44.53) won the 3200, followed by Bennett (12:44.68) in second.
Shikanga (16.04) won the 100 hurdles, followed by Roy (17.07), and NEB’s Mallorie Maynard (18.42).
Troy’s Alyssa Parks (49.29) won the 300 hurdles, with Shikanga (54.02) in second, and Mallorie Maynard (54.62) in third.
Troy won the 4x100 relay in 1:00.75, while NEB took the 4x400 relay (4:36.61), followed by Troy (4:45.82). NEB (11:11.62) won the 4x800 with Troy (12:24.31) in second.
Parks (4-feet, 10-inches) won the high jump followed by teammates Madelyn Seeley (4-feet), and Maddy Keeney (3-feet, 10-inches).
Troy went 1-2 in the long jump with Calli Connery (13-feet, 9 3/4-inches), and Lee (13-feet, 9 1/2-inches), as Mallorie Maynard (13-feet, 8 1/2-inches) was third.
Troy swept the triple jump with Roy (30-feet, 4 1/2-inches), Keeney (29-feet, 3 1/2-inches), and Amber Jo White (26-feet, 6 3/4-inches).
Parks (9-feet) led a Troy sweep of the pole vault with Katie Gehman (6-feet, 6-inches), and Lee (6-feet, 6-inches).
Sayre’s Emma Cole (76-feet, 9-inches) pulled out a win in the discus with NEB’s Cora Franklin (75-feet, 2-inches) second, and Troy’s Bella Wood (62-feet, 11 1/2-inches) third.
Seeley (97-feet, 6-inches) won the javelin with Franklin (73-feet, 3-inches), and fellow Panther Abigail O’Connor (66-feet, 10-inches) second and third.
Franklin (28-feet, 3-inches) won the shot put followed by Troy’s Cheyenne Kneller (25-feet, 3-inches), and Ella Lawton (24-feet, 4-inches).
