Northern Tier Sports Report
A very busy day with track and field meets, games on the diamond, and on the courts, but a few rain clouds could mix in.

TRACK & FIELD

Wyalusing, Wellsboro at Troy, 4 p.m.: The Trojans take on Wyalusing for the first time, while they see Wellsboro for the second time this season.

NEB, NP-Mansfield, at Canton, 4 p.m.: The Warriors welcome NEB, and NPM for a league tri-meet.

Towanda at Athens, 4 p.m.: The Knights hit the road north to take on their rivals midway through the dual meet season.

BASEBALL

Troy (5-2) at Wellsboro (3-5), 4:30 p.m.: The Trojans won the first meeting between the two teams, but the Hornets have won three of four as of late.

Athens (6-0) at Towanda (3-3), 4:30 p.m.: The second meeting in three days between these two teams as they face-off at PNC Field on Sunday. The Knights are holding steady as they look to make the playoffs while the Wildcats still atop of the NTL standings.

NP-Mansfield (5-1) at Wyalusing (2-6), 4:30 p.m.: The Rams hung with the Tigers for the first half of their first meeting before the Tigers pulled away. NPM is coming off a loss to Athens, while Wyalusing recently beat CV.

SOFTBALL

Troy (4-2) at Wellsboro (2-5), 4:30 p.m.: Troy is coming off a big win over Towanda to stay in the NTL Large School race. They pulled away from the Hornets in their season opener.

Athens (6-0) at Towanda (5-3), 4:30 p.m.: A few different bounces of the ball and Towanda could be 8-0 coming into this week. Instead they’ll have to settle for some revenge match-ups, beginning with a Wildcat team that beat them 2-0 earlier in the year.

NP-Liberty (7-0) at Wyalusing (4-4), 4:30 p.m.: The Rams have come all the way back to level after the 0-4 start, but now their tough divisional opponents come back around. Wyalusing gave NPL a tough first game in their season opener last month.

CV (3-3) at NEB (5-3), 4:30 p.m.: The Panthers won the first meeting 13-2, but are on a 2-game skid after close losses to Wyalusing, and Towanda.

BOYS’ TENNIS

Towanda (5-3) at Galeton (3-2), 4 p.m.: The Knights picked up a close win over Galeton in their first match as they look to punch their ticket to team districts.
