NTL TRACK & FIELD: TOWANDA GIRLS, BOYS TAKE SECOND AT QUAD MEET (2025-04-15)
Northern Tier Sports ReportATHENS — The Towanda girls’ track and field team nearly upset the NTL defending champs in quad-meet action Tuesday.
The Lady Knights scored 96.5 points, just behind Athens (101.5), with Williamson (51) third, and Sayre (13) fourth.
On the boys’ side Athens (110) won, followed by Towanda (85), Williamson (41), and Sayre (11).
For the girls, in the 100 Towanda’s Anna Dunn (13.72), and Reese Sullivan (14.07) went 2-3, with Sullivan taking second in the 200 in 29.83.
Dunn (1:05.48) won the 400 with Kylee Barnes (1:10.18) third, as Mary-Kate Eberlin won the 800 in 2:30.70. Eberlin was also second in the 1600 in 5:38.92.
Izzy Larson (12:12.88) was second in the 3200, as Kennedy Heyer (4-feet, 6-inches), and Katelyn Blokzyl (4-feet, 2-inches) were second and third in the high jump.
Marin Maynard (8-feet), and Cheyenne Morgan (7-feet) went 2-3 in the pole vault.
Brynn Woodruff (114-feet, 3-inches) won the javelin with Mya Maynard (90-feet, 1-inch) second. Maynard won the shot put in 29-feet, 3-inches, while teammate Gracie Johnson (27-feet, 5-inches) took third.
Ali Hollett (74-feet, 4-inches) was third in the discus.
For the boys, Jazick Brown swept the sprints, winning the 100 (11.81), the 200 (23.94), and the 400 (55.20).
Wyatt Stranger (11-feet), and Tanner Vanderpool (10-feet) went 1-2 in the pole vault.
Jackson Frederick (11:41.55) was third in the 3200, and Kole Heyer (5-feet, 6-inches) was second in the high jump. Jaydon Stranger (16-feet, 5 1/2-inches) was third in the long jump.
Jason Valdez (125-feet, 10-inches) won the discus as Dominik Miller (102-feet, 11-inches) took third. Kolton McPeak (131-feet, 4-inches), and Jace Gunther (127-feet, 11-inches) went 1-2 in the javelin.
Varrius Farrell (50-feet, 8-inches) won the shot put with Miller (35-feet, 11 3/4-inches) in third.
