ON TAP TODAY: A BUSY DAY WITH AN ECLECTIC ARRAY OF CONTESTS (April 17, 2025)

Northern Tier Sports Report
A plethora of contests today, though most are out of the area, while it looks like Mother Nature is going to turn for the better.

TRACK & FIELD

Towanda at North Pocono Invitational, 3 p.m.: The Knights will see plenty of District II competition, along with some teams from District XI.


NEB at Mansfield University: The Panthers head to MU where they’ll see some teams from both District IV, and District IX, along with a few New York schools.


Canton at Mt. Carmel Invitational: The Warriors head south to see some of the top competition from the southern part of District IV.


BASEBALL

Canton (1-6) at Sullivan County (1-4), 4:30 p.m.: The Warriors have a good opportunity to pick up a win as they inch back to .500. The Griffins are coming off a loss to Millville.


SOFTBALL

NEB (6-3) at South Williamsport (8-2), 4:30 p.m.: The Panthers take on the District IV power Mounties in a non-league contest. South is coming off a 4-3 loss to Warrior Run from last week.


Wyalusing (4-4) at Canton (1-6), 4:30 p.m.: The Rams are playing for the first time this week while Canton looks to bounce back from a loss to Troy.


BOYS’ TENNIS

Loyalsock (8-4) at Towanda (5-3), 4 p.m.: The Lancers sit in third in the District IV standings, but recently had a 3-2 loss to Lewisburg.
