NTL BOYS' TENNIS: TOWANDA EDGES GALETON (2025-04-21)

WELLSBORO — Towanda held on to beat Galeton, 3-2, during boys’ tennis action Monday.

The Knights won three of the four singles matches, while Galeton won fourth singles, and swept the doubles.

At first singles Towanda’s Bayley Poll won 6-0, 6-0 over Wellsboro’s Corbin Basile, while at second singles Rian Hennessy beat David Martin 6-2, 6-2. At third singles Matrix McCarter secured the win with a 6-2. 6-3 win over Isaac Miller. 

At fourth singles Galeton’s Max Schloegel won 6-0, 6-1 over Towanda’s Dominic Johnson.

The Tigers swept all doubles matches to get the doubles point. At first doubles Basile and Martin beat Poll and Jameson Harkness 6-3, while at second doubles Schloegel and Trey Sykore won over Hennessy and McCarter 6-5.

At third doubles the Galeton duo of Miller and Wyatt Rachiele beat Ethan Lane and Dominic Johnson.

Towanda (6-4) will host Wellsboro on Tuesday.
