NTL SOFTBALL: NEB 1-HIT IN LOSS TO ATHENS (2025-04-22)

ROME — NEB played undefeated Athens tough but fell 4-0 in NTL softball action Tuesday. 

The Wildcats got one run in each the second and fourth innings, then scored four in the sixth. Gretchen Hiley threw a 1-hit shutout with 15 strikeouts for the Wildcats to go with two walks.

Kiarra DeLancey (1-for-3) had the one hit for the Panthers.

Kelsea Moore was strong in the loss, striking out eight with four walks, three hits, and four runs, three of which were earned.

NEB threatened in the sixth, getting two runners on with two outs, but Hiley got the strikeout to end the threat.

NEB (5-4) will host Williamson on Thursday.
