Northern Tier Sports ReportA great day for games as there is plenty of action around the area, with league and district playoff races heating up.
SOFTBALL
Athens (9-0) at Troy (6-2), 4:30 p.m.: The Wildcats held off a Troy rally to win the first one up in the valley as the Trojans look to get back into the NTL Large School title race.
Towanda (5-4) at Wyalusing (6-5), 4:30 p.m.: The Rams are hoping for a different result than the first time while Towanda comes into the week on a 2-game win streak.
Canton (3-8) at CV (3-5), 4:30 p.m.: CV will be looking to pick up wins as they try to get back to .500, while Canton will play their third game in four days.
Williamson (6-4) at NEB (6-5), 4:30 p.m.: The Warriors edged NEB 5-0 in their first meeting. This game will go a long way towards deciding the NTL Small School title.
BASEBALL
Athens (9-1) at Troy (7-4), 4:30 p.m.: If the Trojans are going to get back into the NTL Large School race they’ll need a win here against a tough Wildcat squad.
Towanda (5-5) at Wyalusing (3-7), 4:30 p.m.: The third game in four days, fourth game in six days going back to Saturday for the Rams as Towanda looks for the season sweep.
Canton (3-7) at CV (8-1), 4:30 p.m.: The Indians took the first one and currently lead the Class A standings.
