Horseheads senior Mason Holloway was perfect, and sophomore Gretchan Hiley pitched Athens past a pair of previously-unbeaten softball powers. They are The Sports Reports / Ziff Law Firm Regional "Athletes of the Week," for the week ending April 19.

HORSEHEADS' HOLLOWAY NAMED ZIFF LAW REGIONAL BOYS "ATHLETE OF THE WEEK"
Holloway tossed a perfect game with 16 strike outs in a win at Myrtle Beach.

At the plate, he hit .545 (5 hits in 11 ABs) with a home run, one triple, one double, six runs scored and six RBI.

In two starts this year, Holloway has yet to allow a base runner, and has 27 strikeouts in 12 innings pitched.

Honorable Mentions: Canton's Lawrence Halbfoerstar (track & field), North Penn-Mansfield's Cooper Shaw, Alex Davis, and Jason Harer (baseball), Owego's Elijah Lewis (baseball), and Tioga's Gavin Albrecht (track & field).

ATHENS' HILEY NAMED ZIFF LAW REGIONAL GIRLS "ATHLETE OF THE WEEK"
Hiley struck out 20, allowed five hits and walked three in 11 innings, while lead Athens to wins over previously-unbeaten Tioga and North Penn-Liberty.

On Thursday, Hiley tossed four shutout innings, allowing one hit and one walk, and striking out nine in a five-inning 13-0 win over Tioga.

On Friday, Hiley allowed an unearned run on four hits, while striking out 11 and walking two in a complete-game seven-inning effort to break North Penn-Liberty's 50-game regular-season win streak, and 42-game NTL win streak in a 5-1 win.

At the plate, Hiley was 1-for-6 with three runs scored, and one RBI.
