NTL BASEBALL: TROY TOPS ST. JOHN NUEMANN (2025-05-03)
Northern Tier Sports ReportWILLIAMSPORT — Troy baseball pulled out a 7-2 win over St. John Neumann in non-league action Friday.
Troy jumped out ahead with a 4-run second inning, then tacked on three more in the sixth. Neumann tried to rally with a 2-run seventh, but couldn’t get any closer.
Evan Woodward (2-for-4) had 2-RBI with a run scored, as Mason Smith (1-for-3) and Brendan Gilliland (1-for-4) both scored, and had an RBI.
Logunn Heasley (2-for-3) scored twice, and drove in a run, as Lincoln Chimics (1-for-4) crossed home.
Camden Allen got the win, going 6 1/3-innings with 10 strikeouts, four walks, two hits, and two earned runs.
Trey Teribury went the final two-thirds with one hit.
Chimics led off the second with a hit, followed by Allen drawing a walk two batters later. Woodward then brought in Chimics and Jack Burbage, Allen’s courtesy runner, for a 2-0 lead.
After a second out Heasley singled in Woodward, followed by Smith drawing a walk to keep the rally going.
Gilliland then brought in Heasley for the 4-0 lead.
Heasley led off the sixth with a single, then scored on a Smith hit. Smith then found home off a Gilliland hit for a 6-0 lead.
After two outs an error off the bat of Joseph Frye brought in Gilliland.
Troy (10-5) hosts Towanda on Tuesday.
