YOUTH: TOWANDA JH SOFTBALL TAKES TWO FROM CANTON (2025-05-04)

Towanda junior high softball took two from Canton recently.

The Black Knights won the ‘A’ game 9-0 as Taylor Aquilio (3-for-3) scored twice. Sadie Overpeck (2-for-3) had a double with a run scored, as Kendal Cook (2-for-3) also scored twice.

Kaylen Sluyter scored twice, with Adaleigh Jankowsky getting a hit with a run scored. Emma Bride had a double, with Maris Cobb crossing home.

Cook struck out six in the win.

For Canton Lindley Sechrist (1-for-3), K. Kendall (1-for-2), Bryelle Space (1-for-2), and Amelia Pepper (1-for-2) all had hits.

Raya Preston struck out three. 

Towanda won the ‘B’ game 9-4.

Lily Bartholomew (3-for-3) scored four times with Maddie Nash (1-for-2) and Rhyann Kithcart (1-for-2) both scored twice. 

Emma Bride (1-for-3) crossed home with Madi Alexander (1-for-3), and Kyleigh Chilson (1-for-2) also getting hits. 

Jankowsky struck out six.

For Canton McArdle had a home run as Space (1-for-3), Taylor (1-for-1), and Dewing all scored. Murray (1-for-3) and Carr (1-for-3) also had hits.

Space struck out seven.
