NTL SOFTBALL: BIG FIRST INNING PROPELS WYALUSING PAST SAYRE (2025-05-08)
Northern Tier Sports ReportSAYRE — Wyalusing softball rolled past Sayre 11-0 in five innings during NTL action Thursday.
Addison Fluck struck out seven and walked one to get the no-hitter against the Redskins.
The Rams opened with seven runs in the first, then added three more in the fourth, and one in the fifth.
Rachel Wilson (2-for-4) had a home run, a double, and 2-RBI for Wyalusing as Treanna Nickeson (2-for-3) had a double with a run scored.
Kylie Pickett (2-for-3) and Kyla Carpenter (2-for-2) both scored and drove in a run, as Addisyn Bly (2-for-3) also crossed home. Raelea Harvey (1-for-1) had 2-RBI with a run scored, with Fluck (1-for-2) getting a double and scoring a run.
Kirra Millard (1-for-3) had an RBI as Marci Gowin and Maddison Adams both scored twice. Josie Ferris added a run and an RBI, with Emily Johnson driving in a run.
Alaina VanDeMark (1-for-1) had a hit.
In the top of the first Blue and Nickeson had back to back singles to start things off, setting up Millard’s hit that brought in Bly.
A Wilson ground out drove in Nickeson for a 2-0 ball game.
Ferris then reached on an error, followed by Pickett bringing in Harvey to make it 3-0. Ferris and Pickett then both scored thanks to a Carpenter hit for a 5-0 Rams lead.
Fluck then doubled in Carpenter, with her courtesy runner Adams scoring on a Bly single.
Wilson led off the fourth with a home run on a 2-2 pitch. VanDeMark and Pickett then had back to back singles, followed by back to back fielder’s choice outs for Sayre.
Harvey then drove in Addams and Gowin for a 10-0 score.
In the fifth Gowin walked, then scored on a Ferris ground out for the 11-0 final.
Wyalusing (8-8) hosts Canton on Monday.
