NTL SOFTBALL: TROY POWERS THEIR WAY PAST CANTON (2025-05-10)

EAST TROY — Troy topped Canton, 15-0 in three innings, during NTL softball action Saturday.

The Trojans scored eight in the first, one in the second, and six in the third to get the win.

Kali Ayres (3-for-3) had a home run, 3-RBI, and two runs scored, as Erinn Knapp (2-for-3) had a home run, 2-RBI, and a run scored.

Lauren Ridall (3-for-3) scored three times, while driving in a run, as Olivia Champluvier (2-for-3) scored twice, and had 2-RBI.

Marlee Stanton (1-for-3) had a double, 3-RBI, and a run scored, as Lauren Reed (1-for-3) scored three times.

Madi Palmer (1-for-2) scored, and drove in a run, with Amber James (1-for-1), and Haidyn Watson both crossing home.

Knapp got the win, striking out six with one walk, and one hit in three innings of work.

Addi Pepper (1-for-2) had the Canton hit.

Tara Gilbert started, and 2 2/3-innings with two strikeouts, three walks, 12 hits, and 15 runs, with just six of those earned. Jaylee Ward finished out with one walk.

In the bottom of the first Ridall led off with a single, followed by back to back home runs from Ayres and Knapp for a 3-0 lead.

After a Palmer walk Reed singled, then James drew a walk to load the bases. Stanton pushed in Palmer on a sacrifice fly, then Champluvier singled in Reed to make it 5-0.

After a second out Ridall singled in Champluvier and Watson, then Ayres hit in Ridall for an 8-0 first inning lead.

In the second Reed reached on a dropped third strike, and scores on a double steal for a 9-0 ball game.

In the third Ridall and Ayres led off with back to back hits, as a Knapp ground out scored Ridall for a 10-0 lead. Palmer then singled in Ayres to make it 11-0.

After a second out James singled to keep the inning going, with Stanton then doubling in Reed and James for a 13-0 score.

Stanton would score on a Champluvier hit. She later scored on a passed ball for a 15-0 final.

Troy (10-5) hosts Sayre on Tuesday with 4:30 p.m. start while Canton (3-14) travels to Wyalusing.
