NTL TRACK & FIELD: CANTON'S MCROBERTS, HALBFOERSTER JUST MISS STATE MARKS (2025-05-16)

WILLIAMSPORT — It was a day of inches and seconds for Canton athletes at the first day of the District IV, Class AA Track and Field Championships Thursday.

On the girls’ side Alexis McRoberts came up inch short of making states, taking third at 112-feet, 11-inches. The state standard is 113-feet.

For the boys Lawrence Halbfoerster was sixth in the 3200 in 9:46.6, missing state qualifying by four seconds as the standard is 9:42. The top five finishers in the race all made states.

Canton’s 4x800 relay of Manuel Halbfoerster, Simon Wile, Landon Lake, and Nehemiah Wolcott took 13th in 8:59.10.
