NTL SOFTBALL: CALLEAR HAS BIG NIGHT AS NEB ROLLS PAST BENTON (2025-05-16)
Northern Tier Sports ReportROME — Northeast Bradford softball clinched a playoff spot with their 15-0 win over Benton in three innings during non-league action Friday.
After scoring two runs in the first, they tacked on 12 in the second, then ended the game with a run in the third.
Makenna Callear tossed a perfect three innings, striking out all nine batters she faced. She also went 3-for-3 with 2-RBI, and two runs scored.
Kelsea Moore (1-for-1) had a home run, 3-RBI, and two runs scored, with Kiarra DeLancey (2-for-3) scoring twice, and driving in two runs.
Toni Herb (2-for-3) scored twice, and had an RBI, as Orissa Gardner (1-for-3) scored and drove in a run.
Ava Lambert (1-for-1) scored twice, and had an RBI, with Abby Keeney also crossing home twice with an RBI.
Hanna Berger scored a run with 2-RBI, as Zaelea Lane scored and drove in a run.
Moore hit a 2-run home run in the first to take the 2-0 lead.
In the second NEB scored all 12 runs with two outs as Lambert had a hit. After a second out Keeney and Callear drew back to back walks.
DeLancey then had an RBI single, followed by Moore drawing a walk. Berger then drew an RBI walk.
Gardner and Herb then had back to back RBI singles, followed by three straight RBI walks to Lambert, Lane, and Keeney.
Callear and DeLancey then hit back to back RBI singles, followed by an RBI walk from Moore. Berger had the last RBI as she got hit by a pitch.
In the third Herb opened up with a single, then scored on a Callear RBI single.
NEB (9-7) will host Wellsboro Saturday as they try and close out a league title.
