Horseheads senior Braden Woodworth had a monster week, and recorded a milestone goal, and Corning freshman Delaney Abel was under-par for the week. They are The Sports Reports / Ziff Law Firm Regional "Athletes of the Week," for the week ending May 17.

HORSEHEADS' WOODWORTH NAMED ZIFF LAW FIRM REGIONAL BOYS "ATHLETE OF THE WEEK"

Woolworth scored 17 goals, including the 100th of his career, and doled out six assists in a three-game span for the Blue Raiders.

He scored his 100th goal, and had seven goals and one assist in a win over Section III's South Jefferson, and had six goals and three assists against Union-Endicott.

He finished his week with four goals and an assist against Binghamton.

Honorable Mentions: Owego's Conlan Taylor (baseball), Athens' Brady Flynn (baseball), Troy's Ben Warburton (track & field), Troy's Reed Palmer (baseball), and Wellsboro's Max Mascho (baseball).

CORNING'S ABEL NAMED ZIFF LAW FIRM REGIONAL GIRLS "ATHLETE OF THE WEEK"

Abel shot three rounds on the week, with all three in the 30.

Abel shot an even-par round of 37, and a two-under par round of 35 on the front nine of her home course — the Corning Country Club, and a one-over par round of 37 at the Watkins Glen Golf Course.
