Its playoff week for baseball and softball, while qualifying athletes head to the PIAA Track and Field Championships this weekend.

TRACK & FIELD

Friday, May 23 & Saturday, May 24

PIAA Championships at Shippensburg, 9 a.m.: It’s a 9 a.m. start both days as the state’s best compete in Class AA and AAA. Every NTL school has an athlete competing in the event.


BASEBALL

Wednesday, May 21

Troy vs Mt. Carmel at Bloomsburg University, 4:30 p.m.: A turf field gives them a chance to get the game despite a wet forecast for the second half of the week. The third seeded Trojans beat Towanda 4-3 to get to the Class AAA district semifinals, while Mt. Carmel topped Wellsboro 6-3.


SOFTBALL

Tuesday, May 20

Williamson at Troy, 4:30 p.m.: The third seeded Trojans host the Warriors for the second time this season. Troy pulled out a close win in their regular season contest. The winner gets the winner of Northwest-Muncy in the semifinals on Thursday.


Line Mountain at Wyalusing, 4:30 p.m.: The fourth seeded Rams have a home district game this year as they welcome the Eagles. The winner gets top seed South Williamsport on Thursday.


Towanda at Hughesville, 4:30 p.m.: The Knights get a second chance at the Spartans, who beat them 5-0 on May 10. The winner plays the winner of NPL and Warrior Run on Friday.


Wednesday, May 21

NEB vs Sullivan County at Elm Park, 3 p.m.: The Panthers weren’t able to play their regular season game against Sullivan County, but will now get them in the Class A semifinals. The winner gets the winner of Montgomery-Bucktail in the title game back at Elm Park on May 27 at 4:30 p.m.
