Northern Tier Sports Report
The week spring sports should begin, though rain in Friday’s forecast could postpone the first day of NTL baseball and softball.

BASEBALL

Friday, March 26

Towanda at Sayre, 4:30 p.m.: The Knights open the season at Sayre. Both teams were amongst the NTL’s best two years ago, but a lot has changed since then.


Troy at CV, 4:30 p.m.: The Trojans hit the road to open the season. The Trojans defeated the Indians two years ago when they played.


Athens at Canton, 4:30 p.m.: One of the bigger match-ups of the early season. The Wildcats were the Division-I champs two years ago, Canton was second in Division-II.


Wyalusing at South Williamsport, 4:30 p.m.: The Rams head south for a non-league contest to open the season. The Mountaineers are typically one of the best programs in District IV.


SOFTBALL

Friday, March 26

Towanda at Sayre, 4:30 p.m.: Towanda travels to Sayre to open the season. The Knights will look to get experience for their young team.


Troy at CV, 4:30 p.m.: The Trojans make the long trip out to Westfield. The youthful Troy team will be looking to start the season strong.


Athens at Canton, 4:30 p.m.: A big early season match-up for both teams. The two teams made the playoffs two years ago.


BOYS’ TENNIS

Thursday, March 25

Towanda at Galeton, 4 p.m.: The Knights will open the season on the road as their first match was postponed. Galeton is trying to rebuild their program after not having a team two years ago.


Saturday, March 27

Galeton at Towanda, 11 a.m.: The Knights will welcome the Tigers for a morning match. It’s a good chance for Towanda to start the season off on a strong foot.
