LITTLE LEAGUE: TROY NIPS SOUTHERN TIOGA IN WALK-OFF DURING MINORS BASEBALL (2025-06-25)
Northern Tier Sports ReportTROY — Troy got their rally caps going just in time during District 15 Little League Minors baseball, as they scored an 8-7 walk-off win over Southern Tioga in semifinal action Wednesday.
Troy was down 7-2 going into their final at bat when they scored six straight, with Keegan Root driving in Jairo Misenas for the winning run.
Southern Tioga led 1-0 after one, then picked up another run in the third.
Troy got on the scoreboard in the fourth, but Southern made it 5-1 midway through the fifth. Troy got one back in the bottom half of the inning before Southern scored two more in the sixth to set up bottom half comeback.
Troy had just two hits but drew 11 walks as a team, led by Colton Petris. He had three walks, and an RBI, with Root (1-for-1) driving in two runs.
Jase Sheeley (1-for-1) scored and drove in a run, with Isaac Watson scoring twice. Ethan Kendall, River Barth, and Brennan Scott all crossed home.
Kendall went three innings to strike out five, while Barth fanned four in 1 2/3-innings. Sheeley went 1 1/1-innings to strikeout three.
Troy will host RTL on Sunday with a 4 p.m. start.
