LITTLE LEAGUE: CANTON RALLIES PAST TOWANDA FOR WALK-OFF WIN IN MAJORS BASEBALL (2025-06-26)

LEROY — A rain delay pushed back the start at the LeRoy but the game was worth the wait as Canton rallied with three runs in the sixth to edge Towanda, 5-4, in a walk-off during District 15 Little League Majors Baseball bracket play Thursday.

Tate Cole hit a bases loaded single that scored Grayson Pepper to win the game. Canton had three of their seven hits in the inning during the rally.


Towanda got the jump on Canton early, pushing three runs across in the first. Canton nickel-and-dimed their way back with a runs in the third and fifth inning to make it a 1-run contest.


Towanda got one back in the top of the sixth, followed by Canton’s heroics.


Cole (2-for-3) had an RBI as Hunter Burr (1-for-2) had a double, a run scored, and 2-RBI.


Tanner Gowin (1-for-2) scored twice, as Grayson Pepper (1-for-2) had an RBI along with scoring the game winning run.


Parker Earle (1-for-2) scored a run, with Christian Moore driving one in. Drake VanNoy (1-for-2) had a hit.


Cole started, and went 1 1/3-innings with two strikeouts, while Earle came on for two innings to fan six. VanNoy tossed the final 2 2/3-innings, striking out five.


For Towanda Cash Raffin (1-for-3) and Colton Mulcahy (1-for-2) both had a double and scored a run, while Cayden Widrig (1-for-2) also had a double.


Rashad Muir and Cayson Vanderpool both scored, Madden Wickwire had an RBI, and Eli Wilson (1-for-2) had a hit.


Raffin started, and went 3 2/3-innings with six strikeouts, while Ben Owen went the final 1 2/3-innings, striking out three.


Canton will continue on to play Tioga L-Ville on the road on Saturday with a 3 p.m. start.
