LITTLE LEAGUE: TOWANDA MAJORS SOFTBALL FALLS TO ATHENS (2025-06-27)

WYSOX — Towanda Majors softball fell to Athens, 13-3 in four innings during District 15 Little League action Friday.

Athens claims the district title with the win as they went undefeated in pool and bracket play. 

They jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the top of the first, but Towanda rallied in the bottom half, scoring three runs themselves.

Athens pushed one across in the second, then broke the game open with a 7-run third inning. They tacked on one more in the fourth to secure the win.

Molly McGrath tossed a no-hitter for Athens, striking out four.

Lily Bartholomew, Bristol Edsell, and Karis Laudermilch all scored for Towanda, as Gracie Hogan, and Ellie Alderfer each had an RBI.

Alderfer started, and went 2 1/3-innings to strikeout four. Camryn Buford then went the final 1 2/3-innings with one strikeout.
