LITTLE LEAGUE: RTL MINORS TOP TROY TO CLAIM DISTRICT 15 TITLE (2025-07-03)
Northern Tier Sports ReportSAYRE — RTL finished off a dominant run through the District 15 Little League Minors baseball field with an 11-0 win over Troy in five innings for the title on Thursday.
RTL went 6-0 over the past two weeks, out scoring opponents 94-6 during that span with four shutout wins.
On Thursday they jumped out to a 3-0 first inning lead, then tacked on three more runs in the second. After scoreless innings in the third and fourth RTL ended the game with a 5-run fifth.
Ethan Shaffer (3-for-3) scored a run while driving in two, as Elijah Rought (2-for-2) had a triple with a run scored.
Forrest Fisk (2-for-3) had a multi-hit game with Wesley Carr (1-for-1) scoring three times while driving in a run.
Cayden Benjamin (1-for-2) scored twice as Adrien Cole (1-for-2) scored, and drove in a run. Emerson Clouse crossed home twice with Elliott Campbell also crossing home. Brantley Cron (1-for-2) had a hit as Ashton Cole drove in a run.
Clouse struck out 11 in the win.
Ethan Kendall (1-for-2) and Keegan Root (1-for-1) had the two Troy hits. Jase Sheeley started, and went three innings with six strikeouts. Root tossed the fourth inning, while River Barth pitched the fifth, striking out one.
RTL moves on the Section III Tournament, which starts on July 12 and will be hosted by District 12.
