LITTLE LEAGUE: ELK LAKE, WITH NEB PLAYERS, TOPS ATHENS TO CLAIM DISTRICT 15 MAJORS BASEBALL TITLE (2025-07-04)
Northern Tier Sports ReportATHENS — Elk Lake, with a few NEB players, rolled past Athens 12-0 to claim the District 15 Little League Majors Baseball title on Friday.
After a scoreless first Elk Lake pushed three across in the top of the second, then scored two more in the third.
They broke the game open with a 7-run fifth to secure the win.
Kaden N (3-for-3) had a double with 3-RBI, and a run scored, as Aiden L (2-for-3) also had a double to go with a run scored, and an RBI.
Chase V (2-for-3) drove in a run as Eamon P (1-for-2) had a triple, two runs scored, and an RBI. Trenton M (1-for-2) scored twice, as Brant S (1-for-2) also scored twice, while driving in a run.
Luke P (1-for-2) scored twice with Kipton R (1-for-3), and Colt S both scoring. Corbin L (1-for-1) chipped in with an RBI.
Kaden tossed the first three innings, striking out three. Kipton went an inning, then Trenton fanned the three batters he faced in his inning.
Elk Lake will play in the Section III Tournament, which will be hosted by District 15 beginning July 12.
