LITTLE LEAGUE: RTL MINORS BASEBALL FALLS IN OPENING ROUNND OF SECTIONALS (2025-07-12)

MILL HALL — RTL fell 8-5 to Selinsgrove during the opening round of Section III Minors baseball All-star action Saturday.

Selinsgrove led 2-1 after one, then made it 3-1 going into the third. They pushed their lead to as much as 5-1, but a 4-run bottom third from RTL got them back into the game, 5-5.

That’s as close as they got, though, as Selinsgrove scored a run in each of the final three innings to pull away.

Emerson Clouse (2-for-3) had a double with two runs scored for RTL while Wesley Carr (2-for-3) also scored.

Cayden Benjamin and Elliott Campbell each scored, and had an RBI, with Ethan Shaffer and Forrest Fisk both driving in a run.

Adrien Campbell (2-for-3) had an RBI, as Ashton Cole (1-for-3) and Brantley Cron (1-for-2) both scored.

RTL saw six different players take the mound, with Shaffer getting the start.

Clouse came on to pitch 1 1/3-innings with two strikeouts, followed by Carr and Campbell also throwing.

Cron went 2 2/3-innings with three strikeouts, while Benjamin pitched the final third, striking out one.

RTL falls into the consolation bracket, and continues play on Sunday.
