TROY, TOWANDA, WYALUSING ALL FALL IN OPENING ROUND OF WAVERLY SL (2025-07-23) Northern Tier Sports Report WAVERLY, N.Y. — All three area teams fell in the opening round of the Waverly Summer League Boys Hoops playoffs on Wednesday.
Towanda lost to Waverly (35-25), Troy fell to Wellsboro (46-40), and Wyalusing dropped their game to Corning (58-27). Candor beat Athens (33-21) in the other opening round game.
In the semifinals Corning defeated Wellsboro (48-33) and Candor won over Waverly (36-32). Corning won the title with a 49-36 win over Candor.
