NTL BOYS' SOCCER: KUHN'S TWO GOALS LEAD NEB PAST ELK LAKE (2025-08-26)

DIMOCK - NEB picked up a 3-1 win over Elk Lake in their season opener during non-league boys’ soccer action Monday.

“We were slow and lethargic the first minutes on offense as we lost the ball,” said NEB coach Scott Merritt. “We were turning it over during this period too often, but then got things straightened out with ball control and crisp passes. Elk Lake did a good job falling back as a unit, and trying to plug up the lanes, but we stayed persistent, and constant on the attack.”

Tyler Kuhn led NEB with two goals and an assist, while Carson Perkins scored their other goal.

“Great defensive play from the whole unit,” said Merritt.

NEB had a 4-1 edge in corner kicks.

The Panthers host Athens on Wednesday with a 4 p.m. start.
