NTL GIRLS' SOCCER: WYALUSING EDGES NPM 2-1 (2025-08-26)
Northern Tier Sports ReportWYALUSING — Wyalusing pulled out a 2-1 win over NP-Mansfield in their home opener during NTL girls’ soccer action Tuesday.
“I told the girls after our Meadowbrook win that the NTL was going to be different,” said Wyalusing coach Katie Fischer. “And North Penn didn’t disappoint in giving the girls a run. It was a close game and a good way to start our league play with a win.”
Addisyn Bly got the first Ram goal with a direct kick, then Lia Fischer scored on a rebound off a Jenna Morningstar shot.
Leila Garverick had the Tiger goal.
Wyalusing had a 16-4 edge in shots, while Callee Warner made five saves in net for the Rams.
“Callee is really coming out of her shell,” Fischer said. “Coming out of the goal more, and feeling confident in being the talker back there, in charge of everyone, which is really important.”
The Rams also had a 4-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Wyalusing (3-0) hosts NEB on Thursday with a 4 p.m. start.
