Northern Tier Sports ReportA busy day as there is a full slate of girls’ soccer and volleyball.
GIRLS’ SOCCERWilliamson (1-0) at Troy (1-0), 4 p.m.: Both teams got big wins to start the season as Williamson topped NEB and Troy beat Towanda.
NEB (0-1) at Wyalusing (3-0), 4 p.m.: Wyalusing will look to stay undefeated while the Panthers will try to bounce back from a loss in their opener.
Towanda (0-1) at Athens (0-1), 5:30 p.m.: Both teams had tough losses to start the season with Towanda falling to Troy and Athens dropping one to Wellsboro.
VOLLEYBALLAthens (0-1) at Troy (1-0), 7 p.m.: The beginning of divisional play as Troy welcomes the Wildcats for their home opener. Troy beat Williamson earlier this week while Athens fell to Wyalusing.
Canton (0-1) at NEB, 7 p.m.: The Panthers start their two title defenses as they welcome their rivals, the Warriors. Canton dropped a match to Wellsboro to start the week.
Williamson (0-1) at Towanda (1-0), 7 p.m.: The home opener for the Black Knights in a cross-over match for them against a Warriors squad that made districts last year. Towanda rolled past CV earlier this week while Williamson fell to Troy.
Wyalusing (2-0) at NP-Liberty (0-0), 7 p.m.: The Rams continue their tough early season road schedule as they travel to the always tough Mounties. Wyalusing is coming off a win over Athens.
