NTL GIRLS' SOCCER: TROY USES EARLY OFFENSE TO BEAT WILLIAMSON (2025-08-28)
Northern Tier Sports ReportEAST TROY — Troy used three first half goals to down Williamson 4-1 during NTL girls’ soccer action Thursday.
Giana Renzi had two goals and an assist on the day as Mallory Chamberlain and Alexis McRoberts each scored, as well. Saydi Renzo and Chamberlain both had assists, too.
Arianna Ordway had the Williamson goal.
Troy had a 32-3 edge in shots and 13-0 advantage in corner kicks.
Izzy Renzi made three saves in net during the first half, then Emma Mickley made four saves in the second half.
“I think the second half we did a great job at passing the ball,” said Troy coach Wayne Pratt. “I also think we did that because we had some of our younger players in there, and they were trying to teach them how to pass the ball. We have some pretty powerful legs on our team, and if their sites were just a little bit more accurate, and some of those went in, it would have been a little bit difference.”
Pratt’s glad they’re able to mix in a few of the younger players early in the season.
“That’s the one thing, our goal this year is to make sure we give our younger players an opportunity to play with our ones so they’re ready for next year,” he said. “Tonight we were fortunate enough to be able to do that.”
Troy (2-0) travels to Montoursville on Saturday with a 5 p.m. start.
