NTL FOOTBALL: WYALUSING LOOKS TO BOUNCE BACK AGAINST CV (2025-08-29)

BY CHRIS MANNING
Northern Tier Sports Report
Wyalusing dropped a tough one on the road last week so they’ll be looking to bounce back against CV in their home opener 7 p.m. on Friday.

The Rams weren’t able to get over a slow start, while CV rolled past Towanda 38-0.

“We are right back to work this week looking to improve up front and get our run blocking where it needs to be,” said Wyalusing coach Rich Rogers. “We will need to play our best defensively against a solid and much improved Cowanesque Indian squad.”

KEYS TO THE GAME
Cowanesque Valley - Get the defense off the field. Wyalusing likes to wear down the team with the run, the less the offense is out there, the harder that’s to do for the Rams.
Wyalusing - Don’t get down early. Take out the first half of the first quarter and the Rams out played North Penn last week - but it’s difficult when spotting a team 14 points.

PLAYERS TO WATCH
Dave Hess, CV, RB - Hess ran the ball for 143 yards against Towanda last week. If they want to slow the Indians down it all starts there.
Jonny Earle, Wyalusing, RB - If they can get Earle into space he might be able to make some things happen against the CV defense.
