NTL BOYS' SOCCER: NEB FALLS TO NPL (2025-09-13)

Northern Tier Sports Report
LIBERTY — NEB fell to NP-Liberty 2-1 during NTL boys’ soccer action Saturday.

The Mounties used two first half goals to take a lead, and held it in the second half even though Tyler Kuhn cut it to one with a goal at the 27:13 mark.

David Graff had both of the NPL goals.

NEB had the edge in shots (10-6) and corner kicks (6-2).

“We started the game for 25-30 minutes with lead legs and rough touches,” said NEB coach Scott Merritt. “NPL wanted it more and executed better. We did clean it up in the second half, some of our shots were sent right at their goalie, and several found the vertical post of the goal. The rest were sucked up by NPL’s Deakon Valentine, who had a very good day.”

Valentine finished with 10 saves while Gavin Puza made six stops for the Panthers.

“They did what they needed to do, and we did not today,” Merritt said. “I’d like to see this team again, but they are not on our schedule again this season.”
