A WEEK AHEAD: A VERY BUSY WEEK AT THE PEAK OF FALL SPORTS (2025-09-14)

FOOTBALL
Friday, September 19Troy (3-1) at Towanda (0-4), 7 p.m.: The injury bug hit the Black Knights again in their loss at Wellsboro as they return home for the first time in three weeks. This will be Troy’s fifth straight road contest as they come off a thrilling win over Athens.
Wyalusing (1-3) at South Williamsport (1-3), 7 p.m.: Both are coming off tough losses as the Rams fell to Montgomery last week while South dropped a 25-0 contest to Milton.
Canton (1-3) at Montgomery (3-1), 7 p.m.: The Warriors fell in a tough one to NP-Mansfield last week while the Red Raiders pulled away from Wyalusing.
VOLLEYBALL
Monday, September 15South Williamsport (3-3) at Canton (2-3), 7 p.m.: The Warriors are coming off a loss at Troy, while South has won two of the last three.
Montoursville (1-2) at Towanda (4-3), 7 p.m: A make-up from August, the Knights are coming off a big win over Athens while the Warriors recently beat SVRC.
Tuesday, September 16Troy (4-1) at Wellsboro (5-1), 7 p.m.: Possibly the match of the week as its a rematch of last year’s District IV, Class AA final. The Trojans swept Canton to end last week while the Hornets rallied past Athens.
NEB (0-5) at Canton (2-3), 7 p.m.: The Warriors swept NEB in their first meeting as the Panthers are searching for their first win.
Thursday, September 18Troy (4-1) at Towanda (4-3), 7 p.m.: The first one was a thriller with the Trojans rallying in the third set to take it. Towanda is hoping their momentum from their win over Athens last week will carry over.
Wyalusing (6-1) at Williamson (4-1), 7 p.m.: A very big Small School match-up as they’re the two leading teams at the moment. The Rams have won four straight, including a 3-2 victory over Wellsboro, while the Warriors are winners of three straight.
Sayre (2-3) at Canton (2-3), 7 p.m.: The top two in the District IV, Class A standings entering the week. Sayre boasts sweeps of NEB and CV and took a game off Williamson.
Montoursville (1-2) at NEB (0-5), 7 p.m.: The Panthers return home as they look to take on a Warrior team making the long trip up.
Saturday, September 20Wyalusing, Towanda at Tunkhannock Tournament: Both teams look to test themselves against some of the best teams District II has to offer.
BOYS’ SOCCERWednesday, September 17Wellsboro (6-2) at NEB (6-2), 4 p.m.: It's shaping up to be a wild NTL title race and this is one of those matches that could be important down the line. Despite two league losses NEB still isn’t out of it if they can sneak one past Wellsboro, who boasts a loss to Athens on the season.
Galeton (1-6) at Troy (0-8), 4 p.m.: A good chance for the Trojans to pick up a win as they’re coming off a tough loss to Williamson to end last week.
Athens (5-0-1) at Towanda (2-6), 6 p.m.: A tough home stretch for the Knights as they get NEB, Wellsboro, and Athens in three straight matches. The Wildcats recently tied NPL 0-0.
Saturday, September 20Loyalsock (2-4) vs Troy (0-8) at Canton, 5 p.m.: The Trojans turn Miller A. Moyer Field from a gridiron to a pitch for one night. This is the first of a double-header as the Lancers recently beat South Williamsport to end a 3-match losing streak.
NEB (6-2) at Millville (6-1), 7 p.m.: A very competitive race is unfolding in District IV, Class A. Millville rung out six straight wins before falling to Benton (2-1) to end last week.
GIRLS’ SOCCER
Tuesday, September 16NEB (1-7) at Troy (6-1), 4 p.m.: The Panthers hit the road as they’re coming off a pair of loss at their tournament last Saturday. Troy bounced back from a loss to Muncy with a win over Athens to keep control of the league.
Towanda (2-4) at Wellsboro (4-3), 5:30 p.m.: The Knights are coming off a loss to NP-Mansfield while Wellsboro is coming off a tough loss to Hughesville.
Wyalusing (6-2) at Athens (2-2), 5:30 p.m.: The Rams are looking to break a 2-game losing streak as they head to the Valley to take on an Athens team that recently fell to Troy.
Thursday, September 18Athens (2-2) at NEB (1-7), 4 p.m.: The Panthers welcome an Athens team coming off a 2-0 loss to Troy last week.
NPM (2-4) at Troy (6-1), 4 p.m.: A rejuvenated Tigers squad will get their shot at Troy. They’re coming off a 5-1 win over Towanda before falling 6-3 to NCC.
Wellsboro (6-2) at Wyalusing (4-3), 4:15 p.m.: The Rams host the Hornets in a big NTL tilt. The Rams come into the week on a 2-match slide while Wellsboro is 1-3 after their fast start.
Williamson (4-3) at Towanda (2-4), 6 p.m.: The Warriors are coming off a win over NEB last week while the Knights look to bounce back from a loss at NPM.
Saturday, September 20Warrior Run (6-1-1) at Towanda (2-4), 11 a.m.: The Knights take on a tough Defenders squad that has won four in a row coming into the week.
Wyalusing (6-2) at Southern Columbia (7-0), 11 a.m.: The Rams face the District IV, Class A leaders who boast two overtime wins and a 6-1 victory over Danville.
NEB (1-7) at Meadowbrook (2-2), noon: The Panthers head south as they take on a Meadowbrook team that has losses to Wyalusing and Towanda on the season.
Loyalsock (2-4) vs Troy (6-1) at Canton, 7 p.m.: The Trojans turn Miller A. Moyer Field from a gridiron to a pitch for one night. The Lancers are 1-2 over their last three matches.
CROSS-COUNTRY
Tuesday, September 16Canton, Wellsboro at Sullivan County, 4:30 p.m.: A key race in the NTL boys’ Small School Division as both the Warriors and Griffins come in undefeated against divisional opponents.
Sayre, Towanda at NEB, 4:30 p.m.: The NEB boys got big wins over Troy and Wyalusing last week to get themselves back in the NTL Small School hunt. The Knights come in undefeated in dual meet action.
Athens, CV at Wyalusing, 4:30 p.m.: The Lady Rams will be looking to take home a pair of wins as they stay in the running for the NTL Small School title.
Troy at NP-Mansfield, 4:30 p.m.: The Troy boys look to bounce back from their loss to NEB last week as they continue their NTL Large School title defense.
Friday, September 19Troy, Wyalusing, NEB at Owego Invitational, 6 p.m.: Bring your glow sticks and neon paint for Owego’s night race. Junior High starts at 6 p.m. with the first varsity race going off at 8:20.
GOLF
Monday, September 15Wyalusing at Towanda, 4:30 p.m.: The final 9-hole NTL match of the season as these two teams meet at Towanda Golf Club.
Thursday, September 18NTL at Corey Creek, 9 a.m.: A very early start as the league plays an 18-hole match for their regular season finale.
