NTL VOLLEYBALL: TOWANDA TOPS NPL IN FOUR TO END 4-MATCH SKID (2025-10-02)

Northern Tier Sports Report
TOWANDA — Towanda volleyball got a much needed win on Thursday as they rallied to beat NP-Liberty, 3-1, during NTL action.

The Mounties took the first set 25-15, but Towanda won the next three 25-18, 25-17, and 26-24.

“It feels great, and that’s honestly an understatement,” Towanda coach Cassie Smith said about ending their 4-match losing streak.

“The girls have been battling in every single game, and to come out on top of this one is huge. They had a hard reset after these last few games, and the losing streak, but they came in, they battled, they did their job. I’m so proud.”

Smith wasn’t too worried after the 10-point loss in the opening set.

“They’ve always really held their own in any game that they’ve played,” she said. “Coming off a first set like that, it was back and forth for a lot of the set. They weren’t getting too complacent in that first set. They kept their heads up the whole time, and they came back and attacked.”

In the fourth set Towanda was able to get that win that had been eluding them.

“That’s what we’ve been looking to do all season,” Smith said. “We’ve been in those close games, we’ve been competing in those close games with these girls. They kept their composure, they showed maturity, they showed great growth. They’re doing all the things that we’re asking of them, I’m so proud of them for that.”

Karis Flynn had 29 assists, 13 digs, 10 points, three kills, three blocks, and an ace, as Brooklyn Evans had 17 kills, 14 digs, and three points.

Addy Barrett notched seven kills, three blocks, two points, and an ace, with Lariah Long getting seven kills, 12 points, 10 digs, and one block.

Caedence Wells had 16 points, two aces, and seven digs, as Brynsen Vargason added 22 digs, six points, and two aces.

Kylee Barnes added four kills.

Towanda rallied to win the JV match, as well. NPL took the first set 25-19, but the Knights won the next three 25-17, and 15-10.

Ali Hollett had 13 points, five aces, six digs, eight assists, and three kills, as Molly Roberts had six points, two aces, two digs, and a kill.

Emma Stone notched five points, four aces, seven kills, two blocks, and a dig with Sadie Overpeck getting five points, two aces, and four assists.
