NTL FOOTBALL: ATHENS TOO MUCH FOR TOWANDA (2025-10-04)
Northern Tier Sports ReportTOWANDA — Athens’ Connor Davidson had six touchdown passes as the Wildcats topped Towanda, 54-7, during NTL football action Friday.
It was 15-7 after the first quarter but Athens scored 39 straight points over the final three quarters to take the win.
Jazik Brown had a rushing touchdown for the Knights with 31-yards on four carries, while Shane Maghamez had 29-yards on three touches.
Gabe Wolf went 3-for-12 for 12-yards and two interceptions from the pocket as Clinton Tuttle was 2-for-3 for six yards.
Tanner Vanderpool and Carter Schoonover had six yards receiving, each.
Davidson was 15-for-27 for 250-yards as James Friend had three receiving touchdowns on four catches for 87-yards.
Gage Marmor, Ryan Cook, and Dominic Robbins also had touchdown catches.
Davidson opened the game with back to back touchdown passes to Friend (12 yards) and Marmor (52 yards).
Brown then ripped off a 26-yard scoring run as Brayden Spencer’s kick made it an 8-point game.
In the second, though, Davidson had two touchdown passes - 25-yards to Friend, 7-yards to Robbins - while Fisher hit a 35-yard field goal for a 33-7 lead at the half.
Karson Sipley would get a 7-yard touchdown run to start the third for Athens, followed by Davidson hitting Cook for a 43-yard scoring strike.
In the final frame Davidson found Friend for an 11-yard touchdown pass for the 54-7 final.
Towanda (1-6) will host Sayre on Friday.
