NTL GIRLS' SOCCER: TOWANDA RALLIES PAST SHAMOKIN (2025-10-06)
Northern Tier Sports ReportTOWANDA — Towanda girls’ soccer got a close one to go their way as they rallied past Shamokin, 4-3, during non-league action Monday.
Shamokin led 3-2 at the half, but Towanda out scored them 2-0 in the second half to get the win.
“I’m proud of the girls for the way they finished the game,” said Towanda coach Josh Maye. “They stayed very positive at halftime even though we were trailing. They all played for one another, a great team effort.”
Ellie Cook had two goals for Towanda with Kiera Robinson and Marin Maynard netting the other two. Kennedy Heyer, Maggie Glantz, and Mya Maynard each had an assist.
Shamokin had a 13-10 edge in shots while Towanda led in corner kicks 4-3. Towanda keeper Kendal Cook made nine saves in net.
